It is always a pleasure to interview and talk to rapper and producer BIG K.R.I.T. He was almost half way through his latest tour, Heavy is the Crown, when he stopped by the Midday before he performed in Jackson, Mississippi that night. A Meridian, Mississippi native, Big K.R.I.T, which stands for a King Remembered In Time, was excited to be back on the road while promoting his latest double album, which features artists such as T.I, Mannie Fresh, Sleepy Brown, and Jill Scott. He revealed he felt like a new artist again on stage, attracting new audiences at sold out shows throughout the country. His hit single, 1999, featuring Lloyd is steady climbing the charts. He was very candid about how Mannie Fresh gave him the hit record that already featured Lloyd, which took him a month to actually write over, because he did not want to over rap the record. Going forward, Big K.R.I.T promised his fans it will not take him 2 years to drop another album, and they are making major moves with his own label pushing other artists. Right now, on the production side, he is working on Bun B's project and is excited for fans to hear it. He also wants to make his mark as a producer being apart of the creative process.
